The kids were invited to a skating Bithday Party.
They both got the hang of it after awhile with a little help from some friends.
My sister Reba, her daughter Kate and grand-daughter Abbey came to visit. They brought among other gifts, a Spiderman Bingo game, which was a big hit.

Looks like fun! Anything Spiderman is a big hit at our house.

Cars, Toy Story and Spiderman are Nicolas' favorites. Diana likes Tinkerbell, Barbie and Hannah Montana. It is good to see the kids concentrate on something. They like puzzles, memory games and a few hand held games that are simple.
Once their English gets better, I highly recommend getting Leapsters (if your kids are into electronics like ours are). Oscar learned his multiplication facts within two months by playing his Batman and Jedi Math games. Much less frustrating than using flash cards for us...
We haven't tried skating yet. Looks like a good time!

I have been wanting to look at Leapsters. How long was it before you got them for your kids? What are the ages of your kids?
We got the kids' Leapsters for Christmas this past year ('09). But, I think we could have gotten them sooner - like maybe around 6 months after coming home. At Christmas we had been home 10.5 months.
Our kids are now 12, 9, 8 & 7. All are behind where they should be in school and I'll do anything to get them to do educational things voluntarily!
Our blog is www.losseisverhulsts.blogspot.com if you are interested.
