Our wonderful church family gave us a gift card shower. What a wonderful gift. We recieved nearly $1,400.00 in cards, cash, and gifts. They have been a great support to us throughout the entire adoption process. We love and appreciate each and everyone of them. These children and adults who have prayed and waited for two years to meet these children from Colombia are as excited as we are to get to know them and be a part of their lives. It is a wonderful thing to see your prayers become flesh and blood. What a great testimony to God's faithfulness. To think that you are the answer to someone else's prayer is an even greater testimony to God's love and care for us all. What did Diana and Nicolas pray for? It makes you wonder. Why did God place them in our care and in the care of our loving church family. It is a great responsibilty and it is only with God's help that we can face this task.

We found people to be very supportive of and generally positive about our adoption too. People just kept giving us money and things for the kids.
However, if one more person tells me that I'm "a saint for taking in those kids" I think I'm going to scream... We didn't adopt our kids just to polish our halos or score points with God :-).
