Arrival

We arrived in Bogota on Monday night - late. The VanderVeens met us in Atlanta. They are adopting the younger siblings of our kids and they were great to be with- they speak Spanish! Andres (our guide) was waiting on us and we went immediately to buy tickets for the next day's flight to Neiva. What a rocky flight, by the way. Andes Mountains plus wind = bumpy. We stayed the night at the Casa de la Lantana. Great people there and I look forward to going back there after sentencia.

Once we landed in Neiva we were met by our lawyer and our translater. They grabbed us right away and told us were being split up. It seems Diana is "strong" and they want to split up the younger girls from her so they can be more comfortable to bond with their new family. I totally get that. So, now we are waiting for our time - 2 p.m. We will meet with the social workers and our lawyer and then we get the kids!!! Oh boy. We have gifts for the kids and we will take a few minutes to get to know them and then we come back to the hotel with them. Oh yeah, and we have ordered cake and drinks for the meeting. That should make them smile.

Mary and Chris. So happy to know you made it there and are getting ready to get the children. I've been praying for you every time I think about you...and it's been quite often. I hope everything works out great and that the kids are as excited about meeting you both as you are about meeting them. I will be watching the blog daily and will continue to pray for your family often! I can't wait to meet them! God bless you both and take care.

Here's a link to a site I found for attachment issues. It also works well for discipline issues. Take it from a mom-of-four "older" adopted children (from Colombia last year) - these techniques have worked for us.

Praying for your new family!
