Waiting, Waiting, Waiting

Well, we are waiting. It has been right at a year now since we decided to adopt. Last March we made our application to Children's Hope International to adopt in their Colombia Program. You know, I understand everyone's impatience when they adopt. When they decide to have kids, they want them now. But, I can honestly say, its a good thing to wait a bit.

Generally speaking, when you have a vision for something, you don't have a good idea of what the vision is going to really end up being. You either start out too big or too small. It takes a while to develop a vision, to roll it around on the tongue, to shape it into its final form. The same is true with adoption. This past year has been a great time to think and plan and figure out who we are and who we are going to be as parents.

Now we are coming to the end of the process. We are ready (as ready as you can be) for our kids. Whoever they are, whatever we need to do, it is time, and we are ready and waiting. Hopefully any day now we will receive word that we are fully accepted. Meanwhile...
